Big Bear Trax is Hosting its 2009 Rally/Field Meet and Motorcycle Hill Climb at the World Famous Pine Mountain Ski Jump.

The Rally and Hill Climb project is coming along on schedule. The route up the hill is over a 600 ft run.

If you want to attend a fun Rally this summer, this is the place to be.

Family Oriented Event.

Spectators: You might want to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. Easy up shades are allowed.

Riders: This is an AMA event. Minor riders must have both parents or legal guardians present to sign a release or have an official. AMA Annual Release Verification Card. This is a new AMA rule and because of insurance reasons NO exceptions can be made.

The event has become a community effort with volunteers from the Kiwanis Ski Club, theV.F.W. Riders Motorcycle Club, the Sons of the American Legion and our crew at Big Bear Trax.

The obstacle course will be made up of several challenges grouped together, which will be exciting and a lot of fun. We will have many other biker games such as the Plank Race, Barrel Roll, Jousting, Weenie Bite, Pool Ball Drop, Fuzzy Ball, Tire Toss etc...for both single and double riders. There will also be non-biker games.

To make the weekend a little more competitive we will have a game that we will call the King of the Crawl. The competition will go on all day Saturday and until 10:00 am Sunday Morning; however if there is a lot of competitors still waiting, we will keep going! Half of the entry fee will go into a pot and the WINNER will ride off (SLOWLY) with the whole pot. It is a spin off of the slow ride. it will start with two bikes, the winner stands while others challenge him /her. The old or new champion at that time stands while others challenge. Cost will be $5.00 per race. The WINNER does not pay, just the challengers. We will make runs when 4 or more Competitors are ready to challenge. However we will work with the winner and give him/her time to get ready............ Rules:...." Two wheel motorcycle only" "Feet or other body parts cannot touch the ground" "No assistance from others or other objects" "Keep this a friendly and fun competition." We will announce our winner during half time at the Hill Climb.

The Vendor Village is well underway.
The Sons of the American Legion will be serving food all through the weekend.
The Kiwanis Ski Club will be serving Ice Cream and Soft Drinks both days.
The V.F.W. Riders Motorcycle Club will have 50/50 drawings on Saturday and Sunday.

Last summer we cancelled our hill climb events because we were not satisfied with the hill. We spent the rest of the season searching the Midwest for the ideal place to hold our events. What we found at Pine Mountain is unbelievable.

The cities of Iron Mountain and Kingsford MI are truly the gate way to the upper peninsula and have all the amenities you could ever want; from shopping, dining, lodging, golf, swimming and camping to what ever you are looking for, you will find it there. Drive just two and a half miles from the city lights and you will enter the beautiful alpine setting of the Pine Mountain Ski Jump. It's almost like stepping into a Movie Set.

There is plenty of room at the foot of the mountain for our games, vendors, parking and other entertainment. There are steps leading up the mountain to the Veterans Memorial at the top. Be sure to add this to your "must do" list while visiting the U.P.
